“I feel like a celebrity!” I exclaimed, as Rhett Smith clipped the tiny microphone to the lapel of my orange silk jacket.
“You ARE a celebrity,” I heard someone in the audience, beyond the bright lights, respond.
Last night, I had the privilege to be interviewed at Wave Street Studios in Monterey, California! Once a month, Michael Hemp has an author as his guest as part of his Literary Series. And this month, I was invited to be that guest!
We sat at a round table and I tried not to squint as bright lights and cameras somewhere out there in the dusky hinterlands of the studio pointed towards us. We talked about my background and the experiences of the three peace marches in the mid-1980s which, 25 years later, led to my writing Walking For Our Lives.

Who would have thought that in my 84th year I’d be having all these new experiences. I have said for a long time that when I get old I’m going to learn bridge and sail around the world. The cards might have to wait a while longer.
